Most of us have heard the standard tips to increase fuel economy but just in case you haven’t here they are;
- Keep your engine tuned. An incorrect fuel ratio, bad spark plugs, bad engine sensors or improperly adjusted ignition timing can have a huge effect on gas mileage.

- Accelerate gradually and coast when you see a stop light ahead. Quick acceleration and accelerating to stops wastes gas.
- Drive with your windows shut. This decreases drag by again decreasing wind resistance. It’s more economical to run your air conditioner than it is to drive with your windows open.
- Remove any exterior accessories such as luggage racks or bike racks that lower the aerodynamics of your vehicle.
The methods above are the “traditional” standard for “traditional” times. The problem is that this is not your traditional time. Gas prices have skyrocketed, we must come up with something better to squeeze out more miles out of every gallon.
